How could I create an Extra Text Box?

Hello,

I would like to create an Extra Text Box to let users fill in the "type & model of camera they use".

I filled in "Camera Name & Model" in "Extra Text Field #1*:" box, but the Text box never appeared when I tried to upload a photo. I know I have done wrongly. What is the right way of doing it. Thank you.

If you type in an extra field name in Admin => Edit Categories for the correct categories they will appear on upload page.

Hello,

I have tried. But the text box still didn't appear in the upload page. Can anyone show me step by step how to setup the Extra Text Box? May be I didn't do it correctly. Thank you.

What Chuck has said above is correct.

I suspect you may have done the same thing I did! I added an extra text field and it was not appearing on the upload screen. This was because although I had added the extra text field to the main category I had not added it to the sub categories... and I was uploading something to a sub category.

For example, If you have a category called "General" and inside this there is an A-Z category etc. Then you will need to make sure the extra text field is also added on the sub categories. Just check that you have done this and then try the upload.

Also, one thing that Chuck may want to look at, is when you click on apply changes to all children of a category - it won't apply the changes you may of made to additional fields. This may be a useful addition for a future version of the software.

Hello,

I created the Text Box in the Sub category but even that didn't show up in the upload page. That is why I would like to know what is the cause of my problem. Thank you.

This is really confusing - if you have the field setup correctly in the category settings it should appear fine.

I can't see why the problem is occurring?

Have you tried adding another extra text field. Just to see if that one appears? Is it just occurring with field number 1?

You must go back and check yourself here as Paul stated.

If you enter an extra field for a specific category say cat 502 it will appear on upload page if you select to upload to cat 502

No if and or buts here

Yes, I did try that. Even the extra text field didn't show up. I suspect may be the php file has corrupted.

Well I show no issues with this feature so yes I would just suggest you make sure you reupload all your files with clean ones.

what is not working about your install. You set up one in your birthday category and I uploaded a photo to it. It asked me for a camera name and I inputed some text and it displays

http://forum.ipoh.com.my/forum/galle...hoto=4&cat=503

If you define an extra then you upload a photo to that category it takes you to bulkupload where you enter text if you want just like Paul stated above.

Hello,

I am sorry. I thought the Text Box would appear in the upload page. I didn't expect the Text Box appeared in the second page after submitting. Is it possible to create one in the upload page?

No it is not possible since you need to select the category and we need to then generate the page from that hense it is on the second page.
