upload error - page hangs indefinitly

Our users are experiencing some issues when uploading to the gallery.

After selecting their files to upload and then hitting the submit button.
The page is directed to uploadphoto.php and the screens displays the "Preparing to process image list!" message. after a few seconds the browser is directed to :

http://www.bauhaussoftware.com/photo...no&dthumbs=yes

And there is stays. The images do not appear in the gallery.

Any suggestions as to why this would happen - BTW it is not happening with all files. For instance I uploaded a .jpg and it worked fine - but my .gif wouldn't or my .mov.???

Hello

Is your image processor capable of handling gif images? Is the mov file smaller than your PHP maximum allowed filesize?

Is it a white page your users get when it forwards to bulkupload?

I have pinned the problem - I looked at the uploads folder for the user in question and it the files were in there - (but not processed (assumeing) )

It was an animated gif file that clogged the system - does anyone else know of an issue with animated gifs. Should I just remove that file type from my list of acceptable files?

your spot on - it was the gif - and I am leaning toward the NO answer - my server can't handle gifs, BTW how could I check it -

Yes it is a white page.

Mostly irrelevant, the .mov file (156kb) was just stuck behind the gif - in the queue in the users folder

delete the gif and remove gif files from the acceptible image types in Admin => Upload Options

You can check your php info to see if gd supports gif files. Only gd 2.028 and above usually does.
