I need to mass rename sets of photos...

I need to mass rename sets of photos to
"Catagory Name" "Unique String / sequential number"
(IE The pictures name will be the name of the catagory with a number)

I would also like to rename the picture files to the same.

Is there an option to do this in photopost or would I need a script to do it? I remember seeing something somewhere, but it may have been while testing coppermine just before i bought this script

You would more than likely need a script to rename the files and update the record in the photos table. Nothing like that is being worked on here or has been worked on by us.

OK Thankyou How difficult would a script like this be to write and which areas of the photopost database will need updating?

It is not a simple script. You might want to look at the 485-486 upgrade as in that one we move files and rename them in the database. You would need to do even more so than that as you need to grab the file rename it the medium and the thumb and then query the database to update the bigimage field in photos to reflect the new name

Good Luck with that one

:P Change of plan then I'll delete all the offending files, rename on my PC and reupload to the ftp to reinsert into the database.

Should only take an hour or so... Is there an easy way to check with version of photopost I am running?
