Hi,

I get the following error after my database was almost successfully restored on a new server when I enter the admin area:

Did you change the $PP_PATH variable to that of the new server in the config-inc.php file

Also you want to update the data and uploads paths in Global Options and then under Storage Options revert paths.

Thanks. I changed the Storage option and no longer get errors but am getting massive errors on upload.

I CHMOD the upload and data directories to 777 (including all folders within them) - was that proper to do? - but still get these errors on upload.

Just tried to upload another file:

Got this error:

Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to open '/home/newsite/public_html/photopost/data/500/thumbs/balneario1.jpg' for writing in /home/newsite/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 121

The image uploads but the error is shown and no thumbnail is generated.

Okay well it seems your permissions are not right. You need to set the data directory and every subdirectory on all levels of data to 777

Strange. Permissions were not transferred properly on FTP to the new site.

I changed all the medium, mini, and thumb subdirectories to 777.

All the image files in the data dir seem to be at 644. Do I need to go through all the image files manually and change to 777 or is 644 enough for users to delete/move them?

Thanks.

Any other surprises in terms of possible permissions violations that I should be on the look out for? As I said, the gallery *seems* to be working but permissions do not seem to have been transferred accurately during my server move.

Thanks.

No 644 is fine for image files

Usually when you move things through FTP you need to go back through afterward and set permissions
