Just curious how we can get thumbnails for videos?

When uploading a multimedia file you are given the option to upload a thumbnail to associate with the multimedia file

isn't it possible for the script to take a random frame from the video, and use that as the thumbnail? I made that once in one of my scripts....

No it is not possible to take a frame of the video since it is not being processed only uploaded.
