[PP] Upload media: How to change media file?

If I upload media file, how can I change the media file with another one?

in showphoto.php,

Admin function / Edit Photo only allow me to change the thumbnail, not the media file itself.

We've never had a request to replace the multimedia portion; so we never added that believing that the only thing that would be replaced was the thumbnail.

well, i think that if we can upload something, we should be able to replace them with something else.

says if member upload the wrong file, or want to upload a better version of the media, or admin need to revise the media, something like that.

hope you will take that into consideration for the next release.

Sure enough. I'm sure we can add an additional line for multimedia which says "Upload new multimedia file"

dont want to spam the forum, so I just ask here

question 2: How to add default icon for some media type?

I want to add .zip, or .mp3, or .pdf to the media list, and I want them to have it own icons

right now, it shows up as "multimedia" (video.gif).

In pp-inc.php at line 2776-2800 are the lines which determines which mutlimedia file is used. You can add your own section for a different file type. For example:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
(mp3 is covered)

some more editing here, but that's fine for me,

Idea on the matter, if you want to consider:

1. having a table for attachmenttype, just like vB's attachmenttype table, where you can add different type, specify limit for each type, specify MIME type for each type, and thumbnail for them. These can be manage (add/delete/change) in admincp

2. or search for ext.gif in some extension folder (say pdf.gif, zip.gif)

just thru out ideas
