| PP using PosNuke registration
I know that if I have Post nuke already installed, I can make a fresh install of PP that will use the postnuke user DB. But Can I, and if so, how, do the same thing except use an existing PP install with a new install PostNuke. In other words move the PP use base to PostNuke and then have post \nuke control registrations.

HMM do not know this has ever been done. It is quite easy the steps needed to switch photopost but there is one major thing that needs to be done afterward.
1. You can view the mysql settings table and set setting 41 to postnuke and setting 83 to the postnuke table prefix
2. edit the config-inc.php file and change the user database portion to reflect the postnuke database
3. edit the usergroups table and delete all entries in it. then import these entries
INSERT INTO pp_usergroups VALUES ('1','Users',0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1,0,0,0);
INSERT INTO pp_usergroups VALUES ('2','Admin',1,1,1,0,0,1,1,1,1,0,0,0);
INSERT INTO pp_usergroups VALUES('100','Guests',0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0);
Now the hard part. You would need to write some script or manually transfer the users in the photopost users table into the postnuke user table with the same userid

I can do that. But perhaps then there is an even simplier approach that would be easier.
Both of these really can be new instals, I thought maybe I could find a way around my orginal problem.
Here's what I was trying to orginally. I set up PN then PP to use PN, no prroblem. Then I ran 4images importer. The users, etc. ended up in pp user table. Perhaps I could make a mod to the importer script??

Okay well you lost me here 4images?
If both can be new installs simply install postnuke since its new and reinstall Photopost as a postnuke install.
Any imported users need to be in the postnuke install so I guess you could mod something up but I am under the impression here you are trying to get photopost users to postnuke right

Sorry, I didn't explain very well. I have an existing 4images gallery that I want to move to pp and I want pn to be the cms for PP. I did new pn install and a new pp install set for pn, all well and good. Then I ran the 4images importer., but the users and group did not end up in pn, they were just move to pp user tables.
Bottom line, I want to convert exitsing 4images gallery and users to pp fronted by pn.
Am I making more sense now???? |

Correct since the importer is made to import 4images to photopost standalone.
Your still back to photopost would need to be integrated with postnuke and you would need to write an import script or manually register the user's in order with the same userid into postnuke.

Yeah modify the user part of the 4images backwards pull the user info from photopost and define it then write an insert query for postnuke |
