[PP521] Max number of images in category

I want to set max number of images in category, so that when the limit is reach, member will not be able to upload, untill the limit is rised or moderator delete some pictures?

In Edit category, there's an option for this, but it says

Max number of images in category
(older files deleted as new ones added; 0 is no limit)

How can I make it so that older file is NOT deleted, but people get stop upload message instead?

is that posible? is there any option to do that? or it'd be great if we can switch between delete old files or not upload new files.

... I want to know the reason for this function (older files deleted as new ones added;) to exist. Why and in which case we can use it.

I just try it, and just feel that there's something's wrong with the idea.

says if I have a category with some limit number of images in that cat.

When member upload more than the limit, there're few cases:

1. Member doesnt even know that older images are deleted (if there're few hundred of them in one cat => old images are deleted out of the sky, no one know or aware of it (no confirmation either)

2. Member can upload a whole bunch of junk pictures, and delete all "old" valuable pictures, which they should not have permission to do this.

well, so I dont think the function should exist here, at all.

Member need to be atleast moderator or admin to be able to delete any picture (including old ones) (unless specified otherwise)

...

so I insist of looking back at this function, and give a good solution for it.

I would suggest that member cant upload if the limit is reach, and moderator need to delete pictures (bad ones, or old ones), or upgrade category limit, before any new pictures can be added.

If this is intended as a suggestion for a future release I can move it there. If you are trying to hack this I can move it to the appropriate mod forum?

Let me know.

How do you take it? and I ask for a function to work, not a thread to be move.

my questions are in order

- how to do it, is that posible

- it it's not posible, then it'd be great if we can switch between delete old files or not upload new file. are you going to consider?

- if you just dont even want to consider it, then I will find my way to do it (I dont even mention it here, just say it in my PM)

What I am saying is this is a suggestions for the next release then I can move this into the suggestions forum where we look for new ideas for the new version when we open a beta. There is no current beta.

We consider all customer suggestions just like many customers who participate in our beta's know.

If you intended this as a hacking question then I can split your post from this thread into a new post in the photopost modification forums.

This forum is a HOW DO I work the default features of the program.
