I'm confused about "Categories" Here is my site: http://www.msdsite.com/photopost/index.php First question There is a top level item in my PhotoPost gallery that says "Member Galleries" And there are "Categories" below that that seem to be grouped differently and have different purposes. 1) Member Galleries seems to be just for selecting which grouping, by member name, the photos uploaded by them. But you can also select that "Member Galleries" for uploade. How is uploading to "Member Galleries" different than uploading to any of the other categories? 2) If I want to have a category that ONLY I can upload to, how do I do that. Right now I have "Mike Davis Arrowhead Collection" set so that only administrators can upload to it. But how do I do this on a member by member basis. If I want to have an album that is, say, "My Collection", what is the proper way to create it so that only I can upload to it but eveyone can view it? Is this an "Album" in "Member Galleries" or can it also be done in Categories? 2nd question On my index page, there is a blank box next to the category title. I have seen some PhotoPost sites that have a thumbnail in that box. How does one turn on that option, to display a thumbnail in that box? I have "contains thumbnail" set to "yes" but nothing shows up. Example: in "Mike Davis Arrowhead Collection", at the link above, how do I cause the thumbnail for one of my photos show up in the box to the left of this category? |

Yea I was trying to figure that one out myself. I found that inside photopost when u go to the gallery part (logged in as admin) you can tell a particular photo to be the index thumbnail. Once you come out of the gallery, you'll see that photo next to the category's name. HOWEVER on the Vbullentin side of things, I can't get the same affect. Is it a code that need to be entered in VB's template? |
Did anyone ever work this one out? |
Well the second question was answered that I see so lets expand on the 2 questions in question 1 Quote:
You show all photos by a user there instead of viewing photos via category [quote] 2) If I want to have a category that ONLY I can upload to, how do I do that. Right now I have "Mike Davis Arrowhead Collection" set so that only administrators can upload to it. But how do I do this on a member by member basis. Permissions are assigned on a usergroup by usergroup basis in Admin => Edit Categories |
