how do i use the alternative to forum-style layout and make thumbs for the categories on the index page?

when i switch from forum-style to the alternative, the thumbs don't show and when i set pictures as category images, they still do not show, they only show in forum style.

nevermind..
i found it..
i have to go to every single category permissions, click on the thumb, got that page, remove index thumb, go back, check page, then the image pulls in the non forum thumb display..

actually, now, the thumb based index page is screwed up...the text links in the boxes, goto the proper galleries, but the thumbs on the index page are being duplicated and linking to the wrong galleries...if i have one maIN GALLERY AND A SUB GALLERY, oops...the two galleries will be represented on the index page by the same thumb...and the thumbs both link to the main gallery, but the text link under the sub gallery links to the proper gallery...what the hell did i do?
please help.
this is a pay site and running live.

I am having a hard time understanding what you mean exactly but I take it your talking the alternate layout which I set cat avatars for and it works from what I see

i just paid to upgrade after reading about the cache issue with larger sites, this i need...maybe it will fix this issue i have as well...
load time has been horrible lately since my last upgrade...
looking forward to this one.

to have thumbs of each gallery, in rows, across the screen...
instead of forum style, like it is now...

I got that htaccess login and I see your gallery. I dont see anything wrong. Did you change something

all i did was remove category thumbs for the first half of the categories...scroll down and you will see there are category thumbs for the last half.,..
now..
what i want to do is change that format, forum-style, to thumbs instead...
so when the member goes to the members area, they see a bunch of regular sized thumbs on the page, not a bunch of tiny thumbs to the left of each line....they have been complaining about that forever, but i couldn't figure out how to change it and gave up...i will start to use these forums now.

i just paid to upgrade 420girls.com and faxed in my form and eemailed you login info...once upgraded, see if you can help me with this too.
