.asx videos not supported?

I am trying to upload .asx videos to my photopost gallery and it doesn't seem to work. I get error messages. I have added ".asx" to the suffixes list in the admin page. Any ideas?

well I guess your error message you would need to post. You can add any extention type whether txt doc asx whatever to multimedia and it will work as that does not use an image processor.

Here's what happens:

1) I upload the video
2) when I click on the thumbnail to play it, the thumbnail is extremely small and says "click to download the video and play"
3) when I click on the thumbnail, i get this message below:

<ASX VERSION="3.0">
<!---Video PreRoll Start--->

<!---Video PreRoll End--->

<entry>
<REF HREF="http://winstream.mountainzone.com/media/MZ_Ski_2000/fetish_100.asf" /> </ENTRY>
</ASX>

There is nothing in our program that has that so I would suspect this is some player issue on your main computer.

The asx thumbnail is simply the thumbnail you upload to represent the multimedia. You would click to download it which will download it to your computer. Now if you have some app trying to open to play it on your computer and there is an issue then that is your problem.

Hmmm....I can play .asx videos on my computer just fine from other places. It opens the external window, no problem. But not on photopost. Oh well...thanks anyway.

well if you like me to comment further you would need to post a link to where it is installed.

But as I said this is nowhere in our program so it is most likely an issue of where is that coming from
