Changing Image Directories

Hello,

I am running out of room on my hosted server for the images posted on my PhotoPost program. I need to have the photos stored on another server, but I'm afraid I will lose the 2500+ photos already there. My plan was to first copy the existing directory to the new server, and then change the image directory setting in the admin panel. Is this the best way to go? Am I going to lose the photos I have posted there now? I should also note that I do not want to change the database settings; I only want to change the image directory to store and retrieve photos from another server.

Thanks!
Jessica

Images can not be hosted on another server they need to be on the same server. There is no external image hosting.
