| Change from one integration to another
Specifically, I want to change from phpbb2 over to Mambo.
I cannot afford to install Mambo first because my large photopost library already exists. Or, I guess I could move it over..but I would like to get specifics as to how.
Thanks

Thanks | If the userids change, don't do it! I switched from phpBB to vbulletin, and wasn't aware that the userids change. They do, and my database of almost 20,000 photos was all screwed up.

I'm afraid that is not very helpful, because I want to pull out phpBB2 completely from the picture. Now...how can that be done?

1. You would need to write an import script to import your phpbb users into Mambo
Thats the only thing needed besides changing your integration type, cookie settings and database settings to the new ones.

I'm sorry that it's not helpful, but that's the way it is. If your userids change in the changing of phpbb to mambo, you're gonna be screwed. If they import without id # changes, then you'll be fine.

I am actually willing to start with a clean and unused set of users in the new integration. So, if I change the parameters within the photopost admin config...that is enough? I think I tried this before and everything broke.

well if you want to start fresh why not just delete photopost and start over? You will need to do this as no photos will belong to the users since your starting over unless you say set them all to you.
Yes all you need to do is edit the settings table and change the integration type and cookie settings and the config files to specify the right stuff

To be clear, most of them are from me anyhow and I want to keep them all. So, how can I go about reassigning them to me then getting everything properly working again? Could you take just a moment to write out the steps so I don't screw it up?
Thanks.

Bump.
Please, I have tried to change settings a couple of times and it only makes my entire installation unusable. I can't even log in. The only thing that then works is to restore the 'settings' table in the database.

1. Change your config file to the proper database settings to point to mambo
2. Change settings 41 83 171 172 173 in the settings table to the proper entries to integrate with mambo

Well now I can get it working, but I cannot seem to be recognised as an Admin, and therefore cannot gt to the admin section of PP.

Have you realigned the usergroups.
Delete all the usergroups except admin and renumber the groupid to 25 I beleive which is the admin usergroup for mambo

Success! I performed a clean install somewhere else. Then I took the usergroup table from there and replaced my existing one. Worked great.
