Two questions - viewphoto and timeout

Hi,

I have 2 totally seperate questions, but figured why make 2 seperate threads.

1. I was looking at the showphoto template file and am trying to make it so the alt tags of the image or thumbnail display the image title, not the image filename, can you point me in the right direction? (I know I saw Omegatron answer this before, but I have searched and can't seem to find that post anymore)

2. When I try rebuilding medium thumbnails I get a timeout error telling me that it cannot continue based on a timeout issue and refers to Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxx/image-inc.php on line 116
Looking at the file, I don't see how that line is relavent, but it would seem its just a timeout issue, as it works for single categories. BTW - linux server with timeout set to 30. Oddly though, rebuilding the entire set of thumbnails for over 5000 images works fine via the refresh method used in the script. Version 5.12

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

OOPS - I forgot, I actually have another question as well. It seems that when someone comments, the time is wrong, by 10 hours, even when I comment. The server time is correct, and I have it set to -5 as we are located EST, as is the server. The time at the bottom, from the VB3 footer is correct though, anywhere to check on this as well?

Hi all, its been a while and no one has responded to my questions above.

But I have another issue - regarding watermarks.

I have the watermarks setup for certain categories and it works nicely, I am using permanent marking opposed to on the fly watermarking. Yes, the user groups at the bottom are checked correctly.

My question is this, sometimes if I run a scan db to watermark the images it works perfectly, no problems. Other times, it just goes through, list the images, and says finished, but does not give the message that it is applying the watermark.

Uploading new images to this category however will apply the watermark, so I am wondering why it will not apply it to the ones that are there already?

I have tried almost every combination to get it to work, and the only way to get the images watermarked is to manually edit the photo via the Admin Options: Edit photo area, save the file to disk, and re upload the same exact photo to get it marked.

Is there a setting somewhere, or a sql command I can run to make sure the photopost does not 'think' that images that are not watermarked are?

As I said, works fine for new photos in the same category, but will not add the watermark to the old ones, which would be very time consuming to do for a lot of my categories if done manually as explained above.

Looking forward to your support.

well this is not a photopost support forum so I guess no one responded.

1. You would need to modify showphoto.php and make the alt $ptitle

2. You can rebuild by category instead of all categories otherwise you would need to alter your php.ini file and make timeouts a higher number

There is also an edit you can do to adm-misc.php and add the code in bold where it is shown here

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
3. Your time thing is simple in the gmtoffset setting in photopost you need to add back in the time from your server to GMT as vbulletin does everything from gmt time back.

So if your server is located in say mountain time you would make a 7 in there not -7 as you want to adjust your server time to GMT to display things right
