User's frustrated with image sorting

Below is a comment from one of my gallery's registered members and, though I can see the problem she is describing, I can't figure out how to 'fix' it or change the settings to allow the gallery to operate this way. In our industry gallerys are very popular and this seems to be configurable in others but I don't evn know what or where to look for a solution in the knowledge base.

I've just been trying to go through the gallery and comment on some of the recent uploads - because the comments are what make sharing your layouts in galleries so gratifying - and it's driving me mad.

I want to view "latest first" so click on that which is fine. I click on the first image to comment on that, and instead of taking me to that layout, it takes me to that users gallery. So I need to remember which layout it was and trawl through their gallery to find it and then comment on it.

It's a lot of trouble to go to just to make a nice comment (especially if that user has pages of layouts) - which I suspect is one reason that there's not many comments. Is there any way we can amend this so that clicking on the layout in the gallery takes you straight to that layout?

Also, then going back to the general gallery, and it reverts back to alphabetical sorting, and i then have to click again on "latest" to see the next latest layout.
