Retrieve images from URL? how exactly does this work?

i notice when i go to upload photos, i have this option, i tried puttin a link to the external picture from another website, and hit submit, it says processing and successful, yet no picture shows up in my gallery? I'm not sure if i'm using this for what its meant for, am i doing something wrong?

I'm having this exact same problem. What do I need to do to get the Upload from URL feature to work?

Okay couple notes on this.

1. Image tags within the html page must be full url not relative

2. You must specify the full page name etc in the download url example below

So, if it's not a .html page, it won't work?

What about:
http://www.somesite/pics/pic.jpg ? Can't upload using that?

No has to be some sort of html page. download from url means a page not a single image file. It will look for <img tags within the page and attempt to download them hense it needs to be full url to images in img tag
