How do I get email this link to a friend to work

I am not sure if there were any extra settings I had to do for this to work. I am sure it is easy to setup.

When I try it just doesn't send anything, althought it says it does nobody recieves an email.

Hi..

It's all in your PP admin section, goto your admin pages > admin options and enable "Allow users to be notified of new posts via email" - users viewing categories would then be able to click the 'subscribe' link (found at the bottom of a category) to recieve updates to that category.

I tried that. It doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if I had to setup something with the admin email account for it to send. Or some script I had to insert.
I am running pp version 5.11
With no forum intergration other than PP.
