Hi,

Why not try this, goto your photopost administration screen > Global Options > Use Spider-friendly URLs? (set to YES)

would changing to spider friendly affect any image links already pasted into my forum? -img tags and showphoto urls?
Also (on a shared server), what would I ask my host to ensure I can enable spder friendly?

Your host should already be spider friendly, photopost can be easily setup to enable search engine spiders to find keywords & text associated with photos, use the method i described above to enable this option in photopost.

I believe that if you simply pasted a link (url) to a gallery photo and then changed photopost to become spider friendly then you would have to modify the links you posted in your forums to reflect the changes.
