assign albums to cats?

what does this option in photopost do? i've read threads about it, how and why, but i'm missing the what. what does it do? thanks!

It allows a member to assign one of there personal albums to a category you have set up.

crud, i hate to be stupid, but huh? i guess we've not used assigning categories, what does that mean? (or if there's a place to read about it, lmk and i'll hush!)

You as an admin can create categories.

Users if you allow them can create personal albums.

If in usergroup settings in admin you set assign albums to cats to yes they will be able to have there personal albums display under the category they select to assign them to.

and
Assign Personal Albums to Catergory?

It'd help understanding the functions better
