How do I change the width of PhotoPost correctly? Hi, I would like to run my photopost at about ~80% width of the browser. I know I can change the setting under layout options, but I have an issue. It just doesn't look right. I also have left nav bar/pals turned on. My issue is: - It doesn't size correctly. There is a giant space (1") between the category and the left nav. I've tried changing the left nav percentage, and it doesn't do much. Take a look below. http://www.bumpstop.com/gallery/ Does anyone else have this problem? Can it be solved? Thanks, Garrett |
Try a fixed width. Percentages of percentages I beleive do not translate well. See the issue is your setting the global width to 80 percent which also says the photopost categories table is 80% |
Hi, Okay, that is a big help, but it's still not quite right. I changed the layout to 725 pixels and changed my header table to 725 (I made it green so you could see). PhotoPost is still larger (can't see anything that would push the table out) than my header file. Also the Reg bar is narrower than Photopost. I also changed my sidebar to 145 pixels from 20%, no difference. http://www.bumpstop.com/gallery/ hmmmm..... Thanks, Garrett |
Well sidebars do not sit well with sites using fixed width etc. They need to usually be 95-100% to display right |
So I change the sidebars to 95% and 100% and there was no difference. My Reg bar still is smaller than Photopost Categories + Sidebars also. Should I continue to play with some numbers to see what looks best? Am I out of luck? Thanks, Garrett |
I dont see how 100% doesnt look right thats how most run it |
I would re-check the html in your header :) -T |
Well...it wasn't the header file, because I tried the PP default and there was no difference. I figured out it was the sidebar that was messing everything up. This is how I fixed it. Overall width = 760 If you set the Layout options to 760 with Sidebar turned on, it adds the sidebar to the 760. So, I made the layout 608 and the sidebar 152, but then the menu bar doesn't size correctly, so I edited that template from 100% to 760. Done deal. Thanks for the help. Garrett |
Basically yes if you set Photopost to a 100% width and then wrap in the header and footer a table of a specific width it works ;) |
