Question Two Servers - one vB :: one Photopost

In relation to PP_Classifieds/vBulletin server questions

How to you config the vB integration if vb and PP are on different servers

One server contains vb and its db and the other server (gallery) contains the PP and its database. they share the same domain name utilizing subdomains

I read that post and would any of these work:

1 - a symlink so the path goes from the PP to the vB server with a very long linked path?

2 - A echo from when they login to vB to talk to the PP DB and change a variable to mark the user as logged in?

Thanks in advanced!

You can not use the VBheaders and such when it is on another server.

I know of no workarounds on that issue.

I've asked for the same thing... there are a number of features where this hurts those with larger boards/photoposts and have to have 2 different servers...

Yes but then again there are physical limitations that are enforced by servers that are beyond our control.

If the forum is not on the same server as Photopost you can not use the integrated vb header.

This would be the same internet limitation with cookies. Remember cookies can only be set for the domain that scripts are running on. Hense if you forum is on one domain and photopost another you can not have an integrated login.

There are certain things that can not be done.
