Documentation?

I'm having an unbelieveably hard time getting things set up with Photopost. I think I understand the difference between member galleries and main but I'm not sure. I'm also unable to easily create public categories for people to place photos and I am not sure how this actually works. It's very simple what I want to do -- have users create their own albums that will be separated by categories such as weddings, newborns, events, etc. That simple.

Now private galleries I'm assuming are password protected only. That's ok too but where do those appear? Are those seperately labeled?

I looked at the stickies in the installation section but there is no tutorial or explanation as to what is where. I like the end product at some places but I wonder how much work it took to get there.

http://www.photopost.com/manual/index.html is where you will find the documentation we have.

Edit Categories is where you create your category structure.
Personal Albums are the albums people create using the Album Admin link in the menu when they are logged in. Members control their own albums.
Private Galleries are those which have a password applied to them and they do not appear anywhere and require a link to be accessed.

Overall, albums refer to something a user creates and galleries/categories apply to what the admin creates. Albums can be assigned to categories (if enabled) to give users the opportunity to create albums and associate them with public galleries to increase visibility.

Michael -- thanks for the manual and your quick replies as usual.

All I see is "Photopost Database Administration" under "Edit Categories" and nothing that allows me to do what it should seem to do -- edit the categories. I do have some weird dropdown that says:

"Acions can be applied to select categories or all" -- What is an "Acion?"

So how does one set up categories so that a person can create an album to be placed within a category?

Is there a FAQ for users to understand the process of creating an album and then assiging a category? I'm hoping someone has done this.

Thanks again...

Under Administration in the Admin section is Edit Categories. This is where you setup your public categories (weddings, newborns, events).

In the Edit Usergroups you can determine which usergroups have "Assign Albums to Cats?" permissions. Setting this to YES means that anyone in that group can select a category from the dropdown list inside their ALBUM ADMIN area (edit album) to assign it to a category.

If you scroll down, you will see several albums which have been assigned to this category.

Michael -- Thanks. I've cleared the cookies but still don't see anything that allows me to set up public categories in the Edit Categories menu. I see 8 checkboxes and the dropdown menu and that's all.

I might as well ask about user administration. I don't see anywhere how users are administrated. Unless something is wrong, I was under the impression that there is vbulletin user integration. However I only see 5 members registered so that means that Photopost actually has its own members database and forums database and shares cookies so you don't need dual logins... I guess. But I don't see an "administrate users" option. maybe this is missing too?

OK - I looked at the manual. I do not have anything that resembles the category editor in there.
