Can I move the sort photos pal displayed on showgallery.php to the top of the page?

Your imagination is the limit. You can move anything you like with the right amount of work.

Can it be done with in the admin cp, or is it coded in the template?

If coded what lines do I need work with.+

look for this code in the showgallery.tmpl

You could move it to another template or move it anywhere (within reason i suppose) but thats the code your after which you wanna move, i'll leave it to your imagination :D
