Red face Main Table Width

Hi,

I know you can change the main table width in the layout options. However my little problem is that when I amend this option although the option bars at the top of the page shrink (those that show admin home etc and recent photos), the category "section" of the page (everything else) does not and remains the same. I must be missing something but I am not sute what.
If there are any suggestions as to what is causing this it would be appreciated, as I want to incorporate the index.php into a smaller web page. My website is www.stslifoff.com and the "gallery" link will show you the existing setup.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Toney,

Thanks for looking but at stsliftoff.com is the old version. What I want to do is reduce the main table width. But when I try this only the option and login bars at the top of the page reduce in width, the rest of the table stays the same so it looks odd. Sorry if the current page misled you.

Perhaps your using a percent %, try a pixel value in admin > Layout Options > "PhotoPost main table width, percent or pixels"

Hi Toney,

I have changed the gallery at stsliftoff.com to represent a closer approximation to what I'm after. I would like to keep the site width as it is, but integrate my own site navigation buttons. To do this i need to shrink the width of the Photopost main table - but I guess there must be a minimum width as it does not want to go below about 650 pixels.

On another issue, I am using the default theme which is light blue, am I able to change this to grey to match my site theme?

Regards

Mike

Hi..

well on the styles front you could edit them to your needs via the 'Edit Stylesheet' option in your photopost admin, choose a style and edit the colours as you see fit, save and select the newly edited style in 'edit settings > Layout Options'

Width wise you could try removing the 'comment count table' for example, check your 'Index Options' in admin, or create shorter dates and times which is also set via admin, this could allow you to reduce the width of your main photopost table further to fit your needs.

Hi Toney,

Thanks for those tips. They have worked and I have a page that looks exactly how I want it. (not on stsliftoff.com yet). But.....I did it by embedding the index.php code in my original html stuff. Now I see that when I launch a gallery I lose all my nice html as of couse "showgallery.php" is a seperate file. Oh well I am learing, I think to get what i want needs a wholesale rewrite of the css style sheet (I know little about css - looks like I will need to learn) or I could leave it as it is which to be fair is a better layout for viewing the photos with). In any case thanks for all you help it has been worthwhile. My header.htm has javascript in it now! so aleast the menu is avilable.

Regards
