Extra fields auto-parse URLs

Is there a setting to turn off the auto-creation of hyperlinks in the Optional Product Fields? In other words, if I add any text that contains "http://" in the additional product fields, it automatically creates it as a hyperlink - I don't want that.

I use my extra product field for a "BUY NOW" link. "So what is the problem?" you may ask...

Well, if I add a link to, say, Amazon, and the url is over 100 characters, my table is stretched way out. The way it is set up now, I cannot mod the template to create my own text link using something like:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I see two possible solutions (at least). Offer a setting that lets you choose the maximum number of characters to display as linked text (string replacing part of the linked text with "..." like in this forum). Or giving the option to turn off auto-linking all together.

Hope that makes sense.

In showproduct.php there are calls to convert_markups for the $extra fields; you could change the line to not call convert_markups so that it doesn't convert links and UBB code.

Where is the convert_markups function located? I'm getting a "call to undefined function" error up upgrading to 5.01. Strange thing is, when I updated my test server, it works fine.

Perfect. Thank you. I didn't want to overwrite my forums file because I made mods to it.
