How do I remove the borders around featured images? The default border for featured images that appear on the VB3 forum home page is overlay-round.gif (and overlay-roundp.gif). This displays that shadowed rounded border around the featured images, similar to the featured images on this site. My question is, how do I remove it. I don't want that background because I increased the thumbnail size settings and in doing so, the pixels of the rounded border become more visable. I should mention that I tried removing the corresponding src attribute in the inc-featured.php file, but doing that removes the image entirely. I then tried to make the src attribute value blank which works fine in a Safari browser, but for IE, a .bmp-type icon is displayed in the upper left corner of the thumbnail. Should I create a clear image (i.e., clear.gif) and use that in place of the overlay-round.gif file? Come to think of it, doing that would've taken less time than it took me to create this post, but any input is appreciated. |
Hehe, yeah I recently changed the 2 overlay GIFs to match the background of my forum. Be sure to make the inside transparent, and be sure the inside area matches the width of the thumbnails. Even if you're one pixel greater than the thumbnail size, you'll notice it. If you're transparent inside is SMALLER, you will get a cropped thumbnail of the image. |
