Backing up photopost

I need to reinstall IIS on my server and need to back up all my photopost users and files already uploaded. By backing up the database and the folders with files and reinstalling will everything remain intact?

If you backup your files plus your database you should be able to restore everything just fine

for backing up the database.....can I simply just go to the location of the database on my machine and copy it since Its on a dedicated server and not virtual host. or do I have to do mysqldump from the command prompt

if you use phpMyAdmin, you simply have to Export your entire database, no need to copy other things...
