whats your payment processor? CCBill? or IBill maybe... you could of course use vbulletins usergroups to it's fullest and run the whole paid/not-paid side of things via vbulletins 'paid subscriptions' - setup your usergroups & galleries and let Vbulletin handle whos paid and not paid which gets relfected throughout your site & galleries...

Im using vBulletin for now, its pretty easy to use, but I was thinking about maybe using CCBill or IBill and have the complete adult site linked yet seprate from vB and vPortal....any thoughts or suggestions on this...

The bottom line is I want my members to have the same theme so they don't see the transfer of site...OR maybe it will be easier to just keep it under one house and work with that...if that is the case what would be the best scenero and how?

If your using subscriptions/memberships i'd use paypal (if your a verified member then you can process credit cards) this will work well with your vbulletin subscription manager to alter a members usergroup automatically after payment, which would then be reflected within photopost where of course you would have categories only viewable by those who have paid (i.e - using a new global usergroup named 'paidmembers' or whatever)

Or using CCbill or IBill have the entire photopost installation behind the ".htaccess" system (which would be setup when you sign up with CCbill or IBill) just have some ready made preview pix on your free pages, when a member signs up via credit card they get their username and password from the credit card processor, then just point them to the members gallery, bingo...there you'll have photopost, open & ready to show your content without the need for usergroups or anything like that...just globally protected with the ".htaccess" files supplied by CCBill & IBill...

I use Paypal...not very hackable you see - of course both ways are good.

I have it set up now with the vB and using PayPal....I have tried to just limit the access for the paid members and only show certain samples to the unpaid members, but it does not seem to be working. As a regular non paid member I can still get access to the gallery....

Is there somthing Im not setting up right. Meaning. Can I have just sample photos or limited access available to the non paying members and then have it also set up for the paid members to get full access?

Ok, simple to resolve and it's key lies in 'usergroups' - follow me...

Create a category in your photopost gallery which 'guests' or normal registered members can view (you could call this category 'freeviews' or something similar)

Now, in vbulletin create a new usergroup named 'paidmembers' (or something to remind you they have paid or what ever) - this group will be the one which vbulletin works with via 'paid subscriptions' and when paypal recieves payment via IPN (instant payment notification) a normal registered user/member will get 'upgraded' to automatically.

Go to your photopost admin settings and click 'edit usergroups' and at the bottom of that page click the link '(Refresh usergroups from your forum software?)' - setup your usergroups accordingly as you wish.

now create a new category or categories which is only viewable by your new usergroup 'paidmembers' - simply click 'edit categories' and alter the viewing permissions, also re-check via photopost your usergroup settings to.

A normal 'registered' member should only be able to view the 'free' galleries, but when they pay via your paid subscription service in vbulletin, they return to your forum/gallery to their new usergroup status and to the photopost categories you assigned to be viewed by their new usergroup.

Hope this helps, lemme know how you get on.
