I again suspect this is as bug but not sure. When I am enabling statistic PAL, on left side column, the PAL shows on the left side as well as at the bottom of the page...
Are you sure you have uploaded all the new files and they are indeed uploaded? Sounds to me like you have some older files templates etc that did not get updated.
The statistics at the bottom only get shown if the sidebar is off and statistics are marked yes. If your showing both the first thing I would do is delete your entire templates directory and reupload a clean one from the source. Check your main file dates on your site to the download also to ensure all the proper php files got updated
