8.2 Generate Pluing requires install

I just realized this when going in to regenerate the plugin for VB. I am having some VB issues so I am going to reinstall the PP plugin. I went into the PP admin but couldn't regenerate it without uploading the XML file into the install directory. I then generated it and went on to the admincp. After a few minutes I returned to the Gallery but got the message that it was inaccessible due to the install directory being there. Even though the only thing in the install directory was the xml file, no danger.

I would recommend placing the plugin maybe into the root folder or create a new xml folder. That way you can leave it on the site and regenerate it anytime without uploading then deleting the install folder.

Hope this helps,

-Jason

Not a bug they are in the install directory because they are not needed only on an install upgrade.

Ah ok, didnt see the logic until now.

The reason I ran into this is that even after removing the plugin, regenerating and reinstalling the PP options in the Vb Admincp do not appear and I cant figure out why. The PP is fine and I can see the plugins for the product all loaded. I just cant find the PP options in admincp to change the forumhome etc.

That is because there are no options in the vb admin for PhotoPost.

Not sure what your trying to change. You can look at the forumhome plugin if your looking to set how many rows and photos to show.
