Ratings only working on some categories?
 

I was wondering how ratings work. I think I have setup my usergroup permissions correctly.

I allow voting to registered groups and of course admins and mods. But I just found out that some categories are not allowing me to rate the image.

Eample:
Message - Galería

But inside this one ratings seem to be working:
Message - Galería

Thought that this happened if I already voted, but some images have no votes.

Finally, ratings go from 1 to 10 or 1 to 5? Cause images tooltip messages go from 5 to 0.

I can not see what your trying to show as you have content locked down to guests.

The way ratings work is ratings and voting are two different things. Now you can either vote or rate depending on how you have that permissions set in your category permissions. Also another thing to consider that most people forget is you never ever can rate your own image. Also once you rate an image you will not be able to change the rating on the rating ajax thing.

Other than that if I view any image I in a category that allows ratings I am able to rate it.

Not a problem I pretty well figured that was your issue as most people overlook the obvious. ;)

I am confused about where the rating button is. I can't see it on photos owned by others. I have ratings allowed and also quick ratings under photos allowed but can't see anything there.

Is there a problem with my settings. I will take a screenshot of my showphoto settings.

I will go and have a closer look at my category permissions in case something has changed there with the upgrade.

The ratings bar is right near the social icons on the picture your showing above the ubbcode links its an ajax rating.

also on a sidenote since we technically do not support style integration with phpbb3 try logging out and viewing your gallery not logged in you might want to turn off the use of the forum style and use the standalone stylesheets.

I had to change the category permissions in order to see the photo as a guest. Now that I can I do see the stars, but I don't see anything that I can click on to rate. This is what I see as a guest:

Is there another permission setting I need to change? Would I need to allow comments for guests in order to see if they get the rating link or not?

If I can't rate when logged out does that mean that the problem is not related to forum integration?

edit: Problem solved. It is working with the forum integration on. For the benefit of anybody else who has missed this, I was looking for a link to rate on the Photo page or on the quick comments area. I have to click on 'post a comment' and open up the new screen to see the place where ratings can be done.

guests to my knowledge can not rate if I remember right but you definately would need to allow guests to comment if you wanted to even try sure. You can rate a photo if you are logged in and your not viewing your photo. I already did it on your site.

You can use the quick rate bar under social icons to quick rate a photo as always but yes to rate and comment on a photo as always you need to place a comment. ;)
