| CSS missing?
After doing a clean install of PP8 on a testboard, this is what I get: A community photo gallery - My Photo Gallery - Google Chrome_2012-02-17_13-09-38.jpg
vB4 integration is fully activated (3 times yes in PPAdminCP), and the path settings for integration, esp. URL settings to forum, have been double checked.
What I found is that the vB calls to css.php go nowhere, that seems to be the case on Reeftalk too (which I referenced).
This is on a pretty much vanilla vB4.1.10 test installation, with forum URL set correctly and "Always use Forum URL as Base Path" set to yes, if this is of any help.

Please read the directions for upgrade in the documentations folder of the code. We where very explicit on this in our announcement.
That will solve your style issue as your photopost css does not exist as you have not properly performed the upgrade.

I did not upgrade. As I have stated, it was a clean install.
After having the issue, I completely uninstalled, including database, and did it once again, following the installation guide you offer here: PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Photo Gallery Installation Guide
Mind you: This is the installation guide you link to from the customer area, where I download the product. To save yourself and your customers future trouble, it may be a good idea to update that with the installation routine that applies to the current version. I honestly do not expect to read the official installation guide onsite and then have to guess that there might be a different one in the package.

Adding a genuine bug (unless there's another readme I'm missing):
The collapse-images seem to be hardcoded to something like /forum/images/buttons/collapse_40b.png. Since my forum does reside in a different folder than /forum, the image is not found.

Our announcement for PP8 is on this site. I know we state to look over the included documentation with the downloaded code for complete instructions.
The installation instructions with PhotoPost 8 have the same stuff on vb4 you need to do as an upgrade. You need to generate and install the vb4 plugins.
Next issue is not a bug as we do not hard code it to anything persay look at how it is done Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
The response I would give based on looking at our coding if that you would need to ensure that your forum url has been entered correctly in your PhotoPost Admin -> Forum Settings. If your forum url is correct the image should be found.

I generated and installed the product after your first post - still I find it dubious to explicitly link to a outdated installation guide in the customer area. If you don't want to update it, just remove it, then people will know they have to look in the package.
Everything is fine except for the collapse buttons. I just triple checked my paths in "PhotoPost Integration Administration", all correct. Now since you sent me to forum settings - indeed there was a wrong path. May I ask why I need to enter the same path at two different locations? What's the difference between the settings, or are they indeed redundant?

I have no control over the installation instructions here. I am not the webmaster. Those are basic server installation instructions they have no information about installing with vbulletin or any forum. I can pass along your comments not a problem
The PP8 release announcement clearly states where to look for full install and upgrade instructions. That is all I was pointing out. A lot of support posts have been about this very issue because no one read the announcement so that is why I pointed this out in the first place. The very last sentence basically in the release announcement for PP8 states to explicitly look in the documentations folder for complete instructions if you are running vb4.
Now on to your buttons.
I said I can show you it works easy enough. A community photo gallery - ReefTalk Gallery
That is about as default an install you can find. That is a stock vb4 suite with our gallery product. I would need to see your site to suggest what your issue might be. The code is indeed what I am posting above.
