PP8 RC1 breadcrumb vs. category title + editphoto issues Hello! I am using PhotoPost Pro 8 RC1 with XenForo, and I am loving it, but I am having a couple issues that I never encountered with previous versions. I'm not sure if they are "bugs" or not, but here is what I am seeing: ISSUE #1 It seems I can have either breadcrumbs OR category title/description, but not both, depending on whether a page is called up via index.php or showgallery.php. Here is an example for a category that does NOT contain images: c. 1950s - Galleries c. 1950s - Galleries If the category DOES contain images, not only do I lose breadcrumbs when I access via index.php, but I also lose the images themselves! See here: George Pal & Byron Haskin - Galleries George Pal & Byron Haskin - Galleries Obviously, I would prefer to have breadcrumbs AND category title/description on all pages, AND images for those categories that contain them. Please note for testing purposes that "Gamma 1" and all its subcategories have category titles/descriptions enabled. ISSUE #2 Editphoto.php bring ups my custom header and the "navbar" (I am not sure if that how that bar is referred to in PhotoPost), but the page below it is blank. There is no page content, and even my custom footer fails to display. Please let me know where I can send user account info to, so that you can see an example of this. Thanks for all your help. I continue to be a huge fan of PhotoPost and plan on buying another license in the very near future. -Ryan |
1 Attachment(s) I would suggest you redownload the code and upload all files as that seemed like a earlier issue that has been resolved. A top level category that does not have images you should always get the link index.php link so if yours operates differently your files are not up to date. You can try making sure your editphoto template is as posted here |
Chuck, Thanks for the reply, and for the editphoto.tmpl file (which was still apparently incorrect in the PhotoPost Pro 8.0 RC1 files I re-downloaded and then uploaded to my site tonight). My edit photo issue is now resolved, but the breadcrumb vs. category title/description problem remains. Any chance there are some other files that need to be updated in the download? Thanks again, Ryan |
Yes you need to be using current code if I am understanding your issue. See this example A community photo gallery - - ReefTalk Gallery Reefs - - ReefTalk Gallery Reeftalk Gallery is a top level cat that does not contain images and its link is this and shows correct in the breadcrumb. ReefTalk Gallery - - ReefTalk Gallery Maybe you want to redownload the build and reupload everything except the config files and install file. |
Breadcrumbs OR category intros, but not both I need to slightly re-state the issue I am having. This is a brand new, "out of the box" install (not an upgrade of a previous version) of both XenForo and PhotoPost Pro 8.0 RC1, and at alternating levels of category depth, the page dispays EITHER breadcrumbs OR category INTROS (not title/description, as I previously stated), but never both. If you try to follow the breadcrumbs up from this category, you will see what I mean. Every one of the categories in this path has category intro set to "Yes" and text in those fields: George Pal & Byron Haskin - Galleries This issue is not present with PhotoPost Pro 7.1. I have made no modifications anywhere in either program, aside from the XenForo color scheme, header logo, and custom header.htm and footer.htm files for PhotoPost, and the issue was present before I even did that. I could start hacking the files to try and fix it, but my goal here is not only to resolve my own issue, but to help you track down an apparent bug in RC1 by providing a completely unmodified example. I have re-downloaded and uploaded the latest files several times, keeping my config files once, but overwriting them and doing a fresh install when that didn't help. Either way, the issue remains. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! |
I am sorry but I do not understand what your trying to say with absolute certainty here. ;) Breadcrumbs and category intros are separate features so may be you should focus on what the issue is you have. I think the problem is in how your describing things. There is nothing wrong with breadcrumbs that I see on your site or my very own. A community photo gallery - - ReefTalk Gallery The only issue I find is the category intro feature is not working right but thats an easy fix. In showgallery.php line 1062 or so should be this Code: Content visible to verified customers only. |
Okay, the category intros issue is now resolved. Thanks for that! However, the issue remains with breadcrumbs being visible only at every other level of category dephth. Can you please try to work your way back up the breadcrumb trail from here, and let me know if you see breadcrumbs at every level? George Pal & Byron Haskin - Galleries |
There is no issue with your breadcrumbs. breadcrumbs only show on category view or photo view. They do not show on the index page and never have. You have out of 4 breadcrumbs two of those links are TOP LEVEL categories meaning they do not contain thumbs they contain categories so those links are index page links therefore no breadcrumb. Movies & TV - Galleries c. 1950s - Galleries Therefore the only breadcrumb active would be home or the index as it is called as that is the script your viewing. |
