Urgent Request for Help with Gallery

Hi,
We recently moved our site to a new server and installed a fresh, updated version of the PhotoPost software. Ever since, we are having serious issues - so much so that I have had to shut the gallery off because my customers are angry at not being able to access their own images.

It is hard to explain - and I have created screenshots that will make it easy to see what I am talking about. My site tech cannot fix the problem and I have no control over any user in the gallery - which is an entirely different issue that I hope to get resolution for as well. But for now, I would just like to figure out how to get this gallery operational again.

Please check out this link: http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/drk0g5 and let me know if you have any suggestions on where the problem lies.
This link is the PDF of the screenshots.

Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Regards,
Kate

If you moved servers then this tutorial should assist you no matter what your issues are

How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories

However images showing up in anothers gallery have nothing to do with a server move. That would only happen if you switch your integration so the answer would be you are causing your own issue. The product is not designed to switch integrations as everything is stored by users userids which when you change integrations change.

You can try looking in the photopost import forum for a script called userfix to realign userid's when switching to vbulletin.

We don't use Vbulletin for the forum.

Thank you for this information. I have sent it to our site guy, so hopefully it will make sense to him.

So, because of the irresponsible coding of the last site tech - he connected the forum to the gallery in such a way that it can't be undone. I had changed to a new gallery, but he left the old one out there like a shadow or something.

Random customers now have no access to their previous albums. He was able to restore it to a point that the user names are right, but they can't access the albums. They can upload a new image and it creates a brand new album for them under the same user name.

I am told that there is no way to restore the gallery without losing my current forum. I either keep one or the other. I want to know if there is a way to access their numeric user ids on the back end, copy their images into their new numeric ids so that they can get access to their history.

Well see here is the issue. You can not change an integration without being aware of the upside and downside of work that needs to be done. You users would need to be moved from the old integration to the new which means currently the only way to switch an integration that I am aware of is to switch from a standalone gallery or another forum product to vbulletin with the gallery. That is because vb has an import script that imports other forums or photopost users into there product. Once one does that they can follow the rest of the steps to switch an integration.

There is discussion on this here that has the full steps you need to do.

Switching from phpbb to vbulletin
