| Selecting sort in members gallery jumps away from their gallery
I've been noticing since we upgraded to vB 4.1.1 that many of the sort options within Photopost side of the website no longer work correctly after I perform the action.
Say I'm looking at the members photos below EmsPics Gallery - BytePhoto Galleries
I go to sort to change it higher view than 24 and instead of that happening, it jumps to All members photos as shown in the link below
The same happens after I delete either mine or a members photo on their request, instead of staying within their own photo gallery so I can delete the second photo they asked, it jumps to the same global listing of all members photo galleries ?? Member's Photo Albums - BytePhoto Galleries |

if you delete something it returns to the category it was in so no it is never going to go back to an individual users gallery it was never designed to do that. The forward works basically going to a category so if you delete a photo in say category 500 its going to go to category 500 vb has nothing to do with sort options in PhotoPost totally separate programs. Chuck S Gallery - ReefTalk Gallery
Here is the same link your displaying and you can see I can change the sort number etc it all goes back to the proper gallery
Is your file updated to the latest? Have you modified it in any way. Make sure you have the current template and php file for showgallery
You can see with my site above and even our site here it works the way explained http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...0/ppuser/62921 |

Has your husband tried to upload clean files no modifications? I think thats the only difference between your site and the ones I am linking. Both my links are clean installs no mods.

I think it might only do this while I am on my computer and not my husbands. I'll have to verify to be sure.

If thats the case I would think you have cookies that will not delete.

my sort is still not working, I can't change the sort from 24 to anything else.
Thing is, it can't have anything to do with my cookies from before. My last laptop crashed, the one I had the sort problems with before. I am now on a brand new laptop, all new software with none of the previous cookies I could have had before on the old computer.
But all I see is 24 per page. Why would this happen, any ideas? Current Contest Entries - BytePhoto Galleries |

I have viewed that link in 5 different browsers and the sort changes fine. You are hitting submit after you change the sort to submit it right?

thanks for checking Chuck, yes, I hit submit. I noticed after selecting the pull down option, I have to be sure to click out of it so that it takes. I thought that was the problem at first. Right now I logged in with a non admin account using IE instead of using my admin account with Firefox. For some reason now viewing IE I can view and sort all ways. A week or so ago before I got the new laptop, I couldn't view it sorted no matter if it was IE or Firefox. So I'm baffled

Yeah everytime you have posted I have viewed your site in multiple browsers they all seem to work fine so no thoughts here as the perpage settings that store the information are handled through a cookie. If you hit submit we delete any old cookie and create a new one. This is not user specific only set for the browsing session in the browser.

I'm baffled too because I can't seem to change the sorting in any way to view in either of the 4 other view options under:
thumbnail
w-title
Group by member

I cleared my cookies, also logged out of my account where again it says it cleared all my cookies, log back in and it still happens
I had Steve log in as me on his laptop and all is fine. So its not my individual account which I thought it might have been.
The sort feature is a big thing for me in many of the weekly processes I do. I'm using FF 3.613

Even Steve can not reproduce any issue so like him I do not know what your issue is I do not see anything codewise wrong here. Steve can login as you and sort fine. I can view your site and view fine. Here is a screenshhot of your site. I viewed your category and set the view to thumbnails with titles and 45 perpage sort and hit submit this is what I see.

another update to this baffling sort thingy
It seems to work fine once I clear out my cookies, close my browser, then reopen it.
But....... it only works for another hour or so, then its back to not being able to sort more than 12 per page.

Well the issue is why is it only you who gets the issue. You said Steve can not get the issue I can't either. If I could get the issue I might be able to help but it is not reproduced by us or Steve.
You have tried other computers and its fine right? You have tried other browsers? Help me out by trying to narrow down what your issue might be.

I'm trying to narrow it down a bit, but so far it happens in Firefox, I don't use IE long enough all day to determine if it will happen. But right now it sorts fine with IE when I'm not logged in to our site. So I am now logged in and will use it the rest of the night to see if the same thing eventually happens with the sort options. I'll sort till I can sort no more and see if I can get it to happen again |

You can post a test user login here like testing and testing for me to try.
The funny thing is the cookie has nothing to do with being logged in at all so that should not matter. I can not reproduce it logged in or out and I use Mozilla

Don't know if this is any clue, but I am viewing one particular members photos via FF from this link sambo Gallery - BytePhoto Galleries
Then I want to view more than 24 per page, I pull down to 90, hit the button and instead of jumping to 90,it then sorts all members albums in a group by most active.
Wonder why it would jump away from my keyword search? Is this related to my sort problem?

Well thats not really what this thread is about but I would suggest you make sure your using all clean default latest photopost 7.1 files as that to me seems like an old issue with older Photopost 7 series.

one of our members is now having the same problem I am. The are using Firefox like I do.
He too has always set his views in PP side of our website to 90pp. Whenever he logs out and comes back to the website, it no longer remembers his 90 pp. Its still happening to me as well. I clear out all my cookies, and it works for a day or 2, then I can no longer sort or change the photos per page. I can't keep clearing out my cookies every 2 days, that messes me up with other websites.
