Recent Comments Missing

I've noticed on my new site Fanboy community art gallery - Fanboyartist.com there are two issues with recent comments on the index. I just posted 3 comments today, but only the last one showed up. It just skipped my previous 2 comments, unless you hit the more link and then all 3 comments show up.

Second issue is sometimes the recent comments don't show up for a couple of days. Don't know if this issue is related or not.

On the more link look for the comment, " Nice! " currently second one down. It's completely missing from the index's recent comments.

Very puzzling.

What happens if you turn off your category cache in admin -> global options.

well recent comments I beleive is set to only show comments on photos where the photo has more than one comment. Are there approved comments two or more on any one photo?

Some are showing up in recent comments from pages that only have one comment on that page.

those are two different scripts a comshow page which shows all comments and a recent comments block which only shows latest comments on photos with more than one comment

This page is what I am talking about your recent comments block is most definately not gone I see like 10 recent comments.

It skips comments completely, or sometimes takes a couple of days before it shows the most recent. Like it might show comments 1, 2, skip 3, show 4, 5, skip 6, like that on the recent comments section.

As stated it will only show comments with more than one comment and the cat cache thing you can turn that off

The cache thing is set to no. So isn't that supposed to cause it to show all the postings now? And if it is set to only post where there is more than one comment, could you tell me where the setting is to change that? It posts all comments on my other gallery where I use your previous gallery script.

It is never suppose to show all postings now. As previously posted it is only suppose to show comments on photos with more than one comment so your site is working as it should. You must be using a way older version if you other site works different. You can alter the query how ever which way you want in pp-inc.php under the function get_ratingscache

Ok, what do I alter in the query specifically that will put all new recent comments on the index page?

I just want to make sure you understand what I'm saying to clarify, I just want all new comments to show up in the recent comments on the index page. Not all comments ever posted. It skips some of the comments, and it doesn't matter if the page the comments come from has one or more comments. It's very random on how it skips comments for the index page.

We do not really assist in code modification. I can tell you how something is suppose to work but if you want to modify your code your on your own in regards to that.

The query is very specific for recent comments as stated. It is going to pull any recent comments from photos where there is MORE THAN ONE COMMENT. Your then going to of course apply the other permissions etc

You can try removing this from the query but we offer no support or continued discussion on this since it is not a product support issue.
