Permissions Issues

As I have stated in my other threads...I am a Newbie for this stuff so please be patient with me...

When I try to Create a new Album I get an error stating something to the effect of permissions for yoursite.com/data

The DATA directory is set at 7777

My server guys looked at it and it seems that it is creating records but not directories.

Also when I try to upload images I am getting a Server (IO) Error.

Thanks for your help

John

I would suggest a couple things to check there.

1. Make sure safe mode is off in PHP

2. Check your Admin => Global Options and Storate Options and make sure the server path to your data directory is correct.

3. Make sure the data directory is 777 permissions at every level beneath it

You can post the exact error message if you continue to have an issue after checking those two.

Your directories would only not be created if permissions or path where wrong or safe mode in php was on.

Chuck,
I got so frustrated with the issues I was having that I shut it down. I would like to attempt to get it up and running again.
It never really worked the way I wanted it to, and it's hard for me to spend another $130 for it.

Any suggestions on what I could do? Also, I cannot get into the system. Is there a way to get in. My username and password is not working.

The software works as long as the server requirements are met.

Like I said in my reply that was never responded to safe mode in PHP has to be set to off. As long as the application is installed correctly with the paths being correct and safe mode is off with the data and uploads directories being 777 at every level your directories will be created. If directories are not being created then safe mode is on or permissions are not 777 on those directories.

That is an absolute.
