| Wrongly marked as sold
I have users complaining that their ads are being marked as SOLD without their consent.
Is this a setting I might have wrong?
I use Classifieds 4.01

I have all sorts of people telling me the same thing, here is just one of about 15 comments I have received on the same issue... Quote: |
I was wondering if there is a problem as well. I had 2 ads for my mods and after a few weeks a friend called to congratulate me for selling them. Only problem was I hadn't sold either car. Both ads showed sold though. I reset the ads and checked after about a week and they both showed sold again, so I deleted the ads. I don't know if it is a glitch or what.
| At first I thought this was user error but I have had so many folks tell me the same thing there must be something going on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well please post an example because as stated an ad can be expired through the cron script and marked sold by the actual seller using the sold function or by you as admin.

Hi Guys,
Just checked out a couple of my adds****** and noticed they are marked as 'SOLD' but I have not been contacted by anyone, so not sure if it's a glitch or what. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Ads are marked sold as noted in this thread so there would be no more info since there is not really an issue but normal operation of the program.

Chuck,
As you recall I had some ads being marked sold that were not marked that way by the ad owner or myself and the ad had not yet reached its expiration date. (plus cron time).
I haven't kept a close eye on this lately and haven't received any complaints lately either since the most recent upgrade, but if it happens again I'll let you know.

Still have this problem. I don't use my own classified much, but here is one of my own adverts which has mysteriously been marked as sold:
[sorry I'm not allowed to post urls unfortunately]

You mean the ad has expired which could be shown as sold thats fine. That is normal. If the ad is over two weeks expired I bet if you visited your admin panel then the ad would be deleted naturally by the code.
