| Upload Problem
One of our forum members how posts many, many photos on our site has been complaining for a while now with an upload problem, and he's just sent me this email detailing the problem.
I wondered if you had any idea - we're using the Flash uploader... Quote:
I load all the files and each one is processed.
I click submit and off they go.
It returns the first page of 10 thumbnails, I check and adjust titles and other stuff if I want (makes no difference whether I amend this page or not)
Then click “process now”
Then I get the unable to connect message page saying likely faults are server under maintenance or server fault.
I try refresh – blank page
I press “go back” and it takes me back to the 10 thumbnail page.
I press “process now” and it does what it is meant to do, processes, dialogue on screen and then it moves to the next 10 thumbnails.
Only it has loaded my pictures twice.
Then, when it gets to the last page and there are only 6 thumbnails to process, I click “process now” and its shows the dialogue box and processes them first time and does not duplicate these.

Are you using GD2 to process images? Blank page is most definately server issues probally relating to PHP memory http://www.photopost.com/forum/1266523-post2.html

well then please check your server error log and see if there is something in your error logs that would assist because to my knowledge raising the php memory limit is the usual assist with the upload error.

I haven't put this line into pp-inc.php yet
ini_set("memory_limit", "72M");
Would this still help if using Imagemagic or is it only relevant to GD2?

You can try it. Since we are talking a blank page error which is a server error usually in the absense of the true server error that should be in your error logs that line cant hurt.  | |

Unfortunately there were a few errors in our server log for an unrelated issue, so it took me some time to sort this out.

None of those would be any issue with uploads that I see so you can try what I posted.

We've now included the following line...
ini_set("memory_limit", "72M");
However, we're still flooded with PhotoPost errors...
We're not using GD2, but we ARE using Imagemagic.
Our member is still having issues uploading images.

We've now included the following line...

However, we're still flooded with PhotoPost errors...
We're not using GD2, but we ARE using Imagemagic.
Our member is still having issues uploading images.

I am not seeing any upload issues in your server log
I see some relative link to a vb cron script in the vb footer which might need to be corrected in your vb footer so it works right over photopost and I see an issue in relation to lightbox images needing full urls to two lightbox images which are linked below Missing Image | |

Including ini_set("memory_limit", "72M"); certainly seemed to cure the upload problem.
With regards all the other errors in the server log, do you think I'm being unrealistic trying to get an error log that never has anything written to it?
Not a loaded question, but I just wonder if I'm actually wasting my time!  | |

The only time 'cron' is found in any of our templates is in 'footer' as follows...

well we try and make sure cron.php is written to a full url but I would have to find in the vb code where cronimage is defined
Your lightbox missing image references in your error log should be solved by doing what I noted in the post above to you a week or so ago.

That's interesting, as the missing image reference in the error log now works fine as you noted last week. We now get the animated bars, then the dimmed background and the proper 'close' icon at the bottom, so I don't know why that's giving an error.
Regarding the cron thing, are you saying that I need to find the reference in one of our templates or one of the .php files?

I appreciate that this probably isn't a fault with PhotoPost, but I'm really stuck now. I've done a ton of searches online and here for the same fault, but I really don't know where to go now. script '/home/domain/public_html/classifieds/image.php' not found or unable to stat
I did find one guy on here with a similar issue, but he never came back with a reply as to whether he found the solution or not.
In your header-inc.php file, it has the following piece of code Quote: |
