Arrow multimedia bug

When uploading multimedia (any format) .mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov
After all is said and done when viewing the post in the gallery
you have the Linked Thumbnail option. it's calling for mm-video.gif

example
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
first it's not the thumbnail name.
(the name of the thumbnail is speedbump.jpg)
and it's in /gallery/data/3043/thumbs/SpeedBump.jpg

second mm-video.gif is not even a photopost image that it's calling for.
Well I can't find it in that dir or any other one

ffmepg generates the thumbnail for videos and it does not add that image to the link.

then you have the Linked Image: this works correctly with the regular image .jpg,.jpeg,.png,.gif

but when a video upload it adds image tags to it..
when used in a post. It shows a red X
example of what's there
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
it's using image tags for multimedia!

Let me add if you enable the "Show html code to display photos?"
"Do you want to show the img src html tag for a photo?"
same issue with the link, uses img code for the media file.

well a thumbnail is only shown for a video if it has one but as far as mm-video.gif

In showphoto.php find this line

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
change to this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
without seeing an actual url its hard to comment further but that line change will correctly show a video.gif thumbnail

helps with displaying a default thumbnail..
I can live with that.. even tho it should use the thumbnail created..
does not fix the problem.. just masks it..
anyway

so <img and bbcode [img ] tag should display a MPG or a AVI ?

No it displays a JPG or GIF...

whats the fix for that ?

post 5 does not even display the bbcode correctly

since bbcode is on here I guess that's a bug in the old version of vb.

The code stuff shows $mmthumb as the thumbnail and if post 3 is followed then mm-video.gif should rightly show as video.gif

1001 - ReefTalk Gallery

Reason I asked is because you said what I posted does not work. I am not seeing this issue in our latest photopost 7.02 code.

I did not get a email on the anouncement of the new version ..
but in your site there , photopost 7.02
below are your links. in red is what I am talking about
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
the [ img ] code will not displace a .mov correct ? as far as I know it will display images only.

*Just noticed the html code it bbcode not html

ok that worked for the bbcode.. I just changed media to mov since that the bbcode I use to display clips..

but the html is missing the code all together

the html code starts off like < img src =" for movie clips still ...

You mean it worked for the linked image

Maybe the best thing for html link is only show it if the image is just that an image because multimedia can not be given an html link.

That can easily be solved by adding the conditional around the html link formation

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

the fix posted eirly on in this thread for the image, worded fine.. (like I said tho, to the default "video.jpg"..)
I don't want to get into it atm but when you enable ffmgep.. it will create a thumbnail of the video..
so in the link it displays the default thumbnail not the one created by ffmpeg , but like I said thats not the end of the world..
and the linking of the clip with the fix you posted above worked like a charm..
and if I understand you correctly yeah if "media" it should not have the HTML link displayed for media.. so it should not display for media
will test this out to make sure we are on the same page ..
thanks for the help
