I cannot connect to the PhotoPost database. [$php_errormsg]

Hi,

(Sorry, i don’t speak english)

My gallery work fine, but for some months now I have an occasional problem. The mysql database down and the gallery is a blank page with this message:

I can not connect to the PhotoPost database. [$ php_errormsg]

My hosting has to restart the server to return to normal.

The MySQL server is always good, but only the database of gallery that specifically gives problems and need to do a reset to work.

This problem has happened 4 times total in recent months, in an irregular manner:

- February 6, 2009
- March 23, 2009
- June 30, 2009
- July 11, 2009

I think the server has enough capacity, it is powerful, but I do not know if it could be a bad configuration or other cause.

What possible causes can make the database gallery down?

Well if the server host had to restart mysql then that error would seem to suggest your mysql was down on the server for photopost.

That error simply states we can not connect to the database.

Hi, Chuck

It was down ONLY the mysql of database gallery, not all of the mysql of server.

I don't know when this problem will happen again, if tomorrow or within 2 months, is irregular.

What could be the cause?

That might be something your host would need to respond to there. I really could not answer that since it has to do with the server it could be a number of things.

It could be an issue with the physical mysql server hardware.

It could be an issue with the configuration of the mysql server.

I find it strange your web host can not tell you why there own mysql server goes down.
