Recent Photos Block problem on showgallery.php

I just upgraded from 6.02 to 6.23. Whenever I have "Show Most Recent Additions on Index page?" on Layout Options enabled, the "Recent Photos" block appears at the top of every showgallery.php page. Setting "Show recent photos in default location (bottom)? (if no, will display at top)" to 'yes' causes the "Recent Photos" block to appear at the bottom on index.php. However, it still remains at the top on showgallery, no matter what I set "Show recent photos in default location (bottom)? (if no, will display at top)" to. Ideally, I would like for the "Recent Photos" block to appear at near the bottom on showgallery.php - which was the case on 6.02.

That option you refer to is under INDEX OPTIONS in admin thus it has never been a showgallery option. The only option you have is whether or not to show that block on the showgallery or showphoto pages and that is turned off by turning off the show features on this page option under showphoto options in admin control panel.

The options I mentioned are definitely under LAYOUT OPTIONS and not INDEX OPTIONS.

Rearranging the order of the code in showgallery.php fixed the problem.

The code on the featured page only displays them on top on those pages

This is exactly the problem I was trying to explain. This behavior is new and unexpected in 6.23.

This is not something new. The option below has been around for a few versions now. I beleive since 5.62

On larger sites this option can slow down the showgallery page. Turn off to speed up this page.
