Serverr upgraded to MySQL 5.0

This evening "Latisys" in Denver upgraded my SERVER. Thinking Photopost would be compatible with MySQL 5.0 and of course it's not.

The reason I upgraded as Vbulletin recommended that 5.0 is running for future upgrades.

Chuck, as it's a problem with MySQL would you fix it via a ticket. I'm not confident messing with MySQL?

The Gallery is here; Http://xpower-racing.com/gallery

The pictures load OK as a none member - but as soon as you login and look at anything other than thumbnails this is the message we get:

Quote:
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.

Script:

Query: REPLACE INTO laston VALUES('9561',6,)

Result: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1

Database handle: Resource id #24

I would suggest if your using an older version which is not compatible with php5 and mysql 5 you might need to upgrade to current code.

OK, I'll take a look at this Chuck, I may have to ask you to do the upgrade for me.

I don't have access to a fax these days for authorisation, is this still necessary?

Well I did an upgrade and the result is that all my pictures are gone - 17,000 of them.

Hopefully its a minor glitch - can you help Chuck? Main Index - Sportscar Race Gallery!

Also I had a message on the Forum about the inc.pheatures.php which prevented loading - I've temporarily removed the file.

Well did you read the upgrade documentation in the documentation folder?

You may be hosed or not. That depends. Looks to me like you ran an upgrade script you did not have to run therefore hosing your entire site. Looks like your site was already running a 5.0 type filestorage and you ran 4.85 upgrade messing up your files

See this

Ryanair 737 on Final's to East Midlands - Sportscar Race Gallery!

The file linked here is this

But the actual image is here

The correct action in your situation would be to restore the database table pp_photos from prior to the upgrade and then run just upgrades 5.0 forward.

The upgrade documenation always states to take database backups before beginning and as part of your site maintenance you should be doing them so as long as you have those your not hosed.

OK, what do you recommend? (Yes looks like a ran a script not needed). Yes the pictures are there - but not linking! SCR (Homepage)

Can I fix it ? Or after the damage done yourself?

Well I'm hosed - just read you EDIT - no back-up exists - switched off to save money!

anyway yes you need backups because what you would have to do is edit all your photo results in the database and remove the users userid off the filename. Otherwise maybe write some type of script to do it.

Shan't be editing all those photos - think the end result of all this is to shut the site.

Yes, no SERVER back-up is probably short sighted - but the costs were prohibitive.

Thanks Chuck for the advice.

I make no warranties here this will work. The logic is sound but this is totally untested.
You can backup your photos table and try making the contents here into a file called say fix.php and run it from your potopost directory to see if it helps.
