Thanks Chuck. I noted that you were able to upload some photos but when I tried again from my home machine (Vista 64 bit / IE 7 / adsl connection) it would not work for me. I still had the "upload was successful" message but no "process thumbnails" page and no photo appears in the gallery.
Tonight I am travelling with an XP laptop and 3G internet connection and it works fine. !! So the problem seems to be with my home PC setup??? This will need further investigation but sorry to have caused any confusion.

Well I'm not sure about "zeroing down" :-) but after various tests with Vista, XP , IE and Firefox I've come to the conclusion that the problem lies somewhere in the internet connection. I get a "Server I/O error" on attempting to upload at home when connected via my router and at work when connecting through a proxy server and Sonicwall firewall. If I connect direct via a 3G modem I can upload with no problems.
So the next question is, what router setting is blocking this upload? (Bearing in mind that it worked fine with the previous Flash uploader).

| Search | SWFUpload
I only see two threads on their support site on router.
As far as your second keyword this is what you can find
Server I/O error Search | SWFUpload |

Chuck, do you have the code that can help detect whether the user has flash 9 or flash 10 and if the user doesn't have either, then simply the normal uploading system should be enabled. I am going to upgrade to 6.21 and I am fearing that some users might complain about not being able to upload anything through the flash uploader

There is no code that I have or know of. I would assume it would be able to autosense what flash is installed but the guys over at SWFUpload could answer that for you.

I uploaded all the files and overwritten the files that were supposed to be replaced due to the photopost 6.21 update, before that I had already had the build update from 1/8/2009. However, I believe the js button of select files for upload is missing in the download link of this:
PhotoPost PHP Pro v6.21
Build: 3/13/09 7:45 PM
in the members area. thus all the buttons appear except select files for upload button doesnt appear.

I am using that build right here so there are no images its a button in the new flash that says select files for upload. Main Index - ReefTalk Gallery
I would suggest you redownload the build and reupload everything except the config install or upgrade files.

Did you upload the images folder? Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
XPButtonUpload.png that image indeed does exist in the download.

Sorry to come back to this one but I'm still unable to upload from my home network machines. If I disable Flash in IE my site reverts to the "old" upload page, as it should, but if I upload a file from there as soon as I hit Submit I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page". Uploadphoto.php is displayed in the title bar at this point. So the problem doesn't seem to be with swfupload Neither upload method is working. Since it works from a laptop with 3G modem I am assuming the server end is OK but I just can't see what the problem is at home. |
