Lots of Comment SPAM

After having recently upgraded PP to 6.2 with a UBB7 integration we are having lots of problems with comment SPAM. This morning I have again had to delete over 2000 SPAM comments.

Usergroups settings as follows:

Administrator -
Admin Access? Yes
Mod Access? Yes
Allow Uploads? Yes
Allow comments? Yes
Require Moderation? No
Allow edit own photos? Yes
Allow edit own posts? Yes
Allow albums? Yes
Assign Albums to Cats? Yes

GlobalModerators -
Admin Access? No

Allow comments? Yes

The 'Guests' usergroup is for unregistered users, however with the above settings they are still able to comment on photos, leaving lots of SPAM which is now becoming a pain.

Is anyone else having similar problems?

well maybe your integration is not right?

If your using newer versions of threads 7 they changed the guest group to 5 not 4

In your threads7.php integration file in the forums subdirectory of photopost change the 4 to a 5 and set permissions accordingly

We were using the threads7.php script, but as you say, they usergroup was still assigned for previous versions.

I have amended as you suggest so hopefully this will fix the problem.

Make sure to set permissions accordingly in admin edit usergroups updating any names to correct ones to match ubbthreads and you should be fine.
