| Keywords not working??
Problem, I think, I uploaded more than 3000 images in my photopost installations, writing accurate keywords for each image I sent.
now I try the search function but it seems that the results are just for words in the titles. what is the function of the keywords field in the upload page?
thanks!

Keywords are also searched or should be. I show if you do all fields keywords are searched Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
I searched for AVP and came up with this result here on our test gallery Search - PhotoPost Photo Gallery |

sorry, I dont understand code, I just know that I uploade more than 1200 images with, among others, the POPY keyword(that is the toy brand), and when I search, I got only 80 results, that are the one that have popy in the filename or the image title..
kindly try by yourself: [realDX] - the GALLERY Popy, chogokin and vintage japanese toys at their best! - Main Index or if you want to see a section of the toys, the diecast one made by popy here: [realDX] - the GALLERY Popy, chogokin and vintage japanese toys at their best! - [POPY] all those pictures have been uploaded with the popy keyword. thanks for support!! |

I've just uploaded this: [realDX] - the GALLERY Popy, chogokin and vintage japanese toys at their best! - Straker's car
keywords: eidai grip thunderbirds and turned on the show keyword feature, it just show the title of the pic..
and concerning the numbers of images, is easy: [realDX] - the GALLERY Popy, chogokin and vintage japanese toys at their best! - [POPY]
you can clearly see how many images there are in the category: the 1st section 615, the 2nd 419 and so on, there are more than 1200 images in that section, all of them uploaded with the, among others, the brand tag, that is POPY..
why there are no shown keywords, it's month I'm typing them, brand, tv show...

and I can tell you, after hours of trials, that there's a huge bug that made me lose months of work... as you noticed, I dont want the keywords to be displayed, well, turning off the keywords display option, also turn off saving them in the DB!! |

That would be a totally incorrect statement there.
Nothing prevents keywords from being stored. If you enter a keyword when uploading a photo then it is stored.
That option you refer to only prevents them from being displayed. It has nothing to do with search at all.
I obviously dont know what or how you did things all I can say is you do not have keywords on alot of photos.

this is not a statement, it's a fact, comon over to my site, upload a photo now, with the show keyword option disabled and put a keyword you like, then search for it.

If your bulkuploading sure you need to turn on keywords its not a BUG. Your physically choosing not to do keywords. You need to have that field entered on each photo to actually have a keyword. Uploading one photo you can enter a keywords sure post a login and I can show you.
Look at your bulkupload template Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
possibly you could do this although I would turn on keywords if you want people to use them and search only makes sense. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

You allow multiple categories so your uploads always go to bulkupload. Like I stated if you want to use keywords you must turn them on. Now if you turn off multiple categories in upload options then uploading one photo you should be able to enter a keyword without displaying them
alternatively you could edit your template as noted above but then we come back to the discussion why hide keywords if you want people to use and search them. |

my pictures are mostly taken from urls, and when I upload there's a place for the keywords, why asking for them if after the site dont store them just because i dont wanna display them? anyway, now I turned off this: Allow users to choose additional categories during upload? in the upload options, and just tried to upload a single photo from my hard drive.. again, the search did not got any result. how did you get in? I did not saw any login from the admin online users..
