Exclamation New forum users aren't logged into gallery?

hi there, i need a little help with a wierd glitch im encountering with my vbulletin and photopost gallery.

I have just upgraded my forum to vb3.7 from 3.64 , since this upgrade, if a new member signs up on the forum, then goes to gallery, they are logged in, but its asking them to register and they don't see an upload button? if they try to register, they get already x name account exists, if you lost password click here etc..???

i haven't changed cookie paths or cookie name or anything, older pre 3.7 members already in database don't get this problem... please help.. all my new members cant access their uploads..

regards

I would suggest first thing you check is that if you had someone else like vb upgrade you that they did not switch databases as it sure sounds like your database for the forum has been updated and hense thats why a new user can not be authenticated but your old ones are. Reverify your forum info is correct under photopost and I do beleive you will solve this one.

Check to make sure its the right database and right table prefix for vb

New users should be authenticated fine if we are talking to the right database

Question upgraded to mysql 5

Hi chuck, ive just relaised we also upgraded to mysql 5.. since doing this i cant get my chatroom to recognise users from forum either, do you think its a mysql 5 issue? teh gallery seems to run just fine, apart from this new users issue..?

i just noticed my forums running on bbay 1 database... as is gallery, but my user database in photopost isnt set the same, its set to new bay... are these 2 supposed to point at teh same place? as that would make perfect sense.. as new users are being stored in newbay databse and forum pulling from bbay1 databse?

last thing i want to do is bugger up being able to access teh gallery, so ill ask you to confirm before i change these values to match?

regards

thankyou for your time

Glad you got your database issues solved. Not recognizing new users is a tell tale sign its pointing to an old database.
