Problem with Russian names of users

Hello,
I can not solve a problem with display of Russian names of users in any way.
Names from a forum phpBB3 are displayed crookedly:

For example : РћСЃРѕРєРёРЅ

Names of a forum are exported to a photo gallery in coding UTF-8.
Photo gallery in coding WIN-1251
There can be something with adjustments in MySQL?

Help to adjust please. The problem has very much tired.

Not sure what exactly the issue is but if your using UTF-8 encoding in the forum since we dont support russian language when you made your russian language did you make the charset UTF-8 not win-1251?

I would suspect that if you edited your russian language file and changed your $contentmeta line to load UTF-8 instead of win-1251 that should assist your issue.

Я решил это просто. закоментил строку 205 в файле register.php вот эту "wordchars( $pick_username ); // check username for bad characters
" и все регяться с Русскими именами.

Not too sure what your trying to say there. I see your talking about wordchars in php.

Hi! Chuck, I'm sorry, i have written on Russian. At registration of Russian names, the system does not accept Cyrillics. I deleted a line 205 in register.php file, now all work.

Yes our wordchars function removes illegal characters so i can see you having to do that for Cryllic
