| Got upgraded by PP to 6.1-disaster
I had you folks take our existing PP Pro and upgrade it to 6.1. Now it is a disaster.
1. Depending on whether Safari or Firefox is used, when some images lightbox open larger, either a broken graphic image in the lower left is displayed in the enlarged image, or no graphic is displayed at all, so users would not know how to close it.
2. Some long existing images, when the thumbnail is clicked on from within the users album, rather than any image showing up, instead a rectangular line box appears with the name of the image in it directly above an embolded rectangular box with an embolded font image name in it.
3. Some thumbnails don't even open under any circumstance to anything other than a blue broken image link icon.
4.Within FireFox 3.0 for the Mac, some images lightbox open with the darkened screen and full intensity image, other times existing old images just open a new window with a url at the top, but no image.
5.In Safari 3.1.1, some thumbnails are there within the user gallery but all the full size versions of the thumbnails are just broken image graphics.
6. If one clicks on an image to the right with the random images vertical bar from within the galley, then that users larger image appear. But above it under Home>>Members Galleries>> user name, there are thumbnails from other users.
7. We had previously set the controls so all sharing codes get auto generated, the upgrade we had done undid that, I can't find that control.
Now I did not do any upgrading or any admin control changing.
update: Ok, seems there are presets to trigger ligthboxing. To be consistent, can I make it so lightbox is always triggered? If so, how is this done, and if via image sizing, what setting should this be set to?
I can't find the show big photos option. I am sure it is staring right at me.

Okay please show a site link so we can see your issues and comment here.
As far as lightbox go to Admin
Admin => Show Photo Options => Use popup window for BIG images?
Admin => Show Photo Options => Use lightbox integration?
SET THOSE TO YES
Admin => Show Photo Options => Width to trigger lightbox integration (if enabled)?
Admin => Show Photo Options => Height to trigger lightbox integration (if enabled)?
SET THOSE TO SAY 1500 or whatever your max image sizes are
This should make lightbox display all the time. Your ubbcode html direct image codes are show with ajax using the image link for more. You need to have ubbcode set to yes in admin show photo options. This thread should help you with missing lightbox close image http://www.photopost.com/forum/1223520-post2.html
I do not use a MAC however I do have safari for PC browser so if you post a link I can comment on any other issues.

So far it works @ 1000, (1500 is way too high) but I was hoping to get it to like 800. At 800 I don't get the lightbox. Have not tried 900. Is there a threashhold? I don't want to have them so big people have to scroll, which right now is the problem. I would rather have the image fit nicely on the screen. Please guide me
Thanks!
LB~ (in MD too by the way) |

What this means 1500 should work fine. Basically to get lightbox to show the image width and height must be under your lightbox threshold or we will use the bigpopup
If you post an example we would be able to respond more here.

Here's a link to the photo that works, I wish it didn't scroll. You can see in our forums most of my images are smaller. Ideally, I want lightbox to work on smaller ones too, if I have to reupload some I can but it will be painstaking - I have lots of photos with notes.

| I don't see how to close in Firefox either.
In IE I get a red X for a proken image where guess teh close X should be???

Lightbox only works when there is a medium size image so if all you have is a thumb and a large image there is no lightbox so above should show you this.
As far as the missing image on lightbox this should help. You can also place full urls to those images also. http://www.photopost.com/forum/1208822-post9.html |

I'm sorry, but that didn't make sense to me. Why is this particular image not working? Can you explain it another way please?

Posting a link on a crawler searchable site is problematic as competitors constantly copy and hack us, and your sig line says no PM's for support unless you are fine with me PM'ing a link then reverting back to the forum here as long as no mention is made of the site.
When you say you "need to have show ubb code options set to yes in admin show photo options", I can't find this in the admin cp show photo options section in the PhotoPost admin cp. It was previously set to show bb code but when it got upgraded it lost this setting. It did preserve the show html and direct link settings though.
I did notice that it displays the rectangular box with the bb code for a linked thumbnail, but to get the "Linked Medium", "Medium Image", "HTML code" and "Direct link" rectangular bas to show up, one needs to click on the bottom center television icon with the chain link that when the mouse is place don it a pop up text of "more" comes up. That is not intuitive, so is there a way to set this so that it always shows up instead of one figuring out what that icon means and does?
Width and height changed from default to the 1500 for each per your suggestion. Lightbox set to yes as well as big images.
As to the "A Few bugs noticed" link, am I guessing some code needs to be changed somewhere to get the close lightboxed image graphic to come up? If so, do you have a path flow to get to that?

Finster on your site I would need a link to your gallery to see any issues. Your free to post your support issue if you dont want it here on the forum to support at photopost dot com.
Ladybeth that thread states this essentially. Let me know if you need further assistance.
In lightbox. js the lines below should be as noted no slash on front of images or a full url and I have placed suggested fix for you here
var fileLoadingImage = "http://www.seedirtrun.com/gallery/images/loading.gif";
var fileBottomNavCloseImage = "http://www.seedirtrun.com/gallery/images/closelabel.gif";
The lightbox. js file is in your gallery directory and you can ftp to your site and downloas the file edit it then reupload it to your gallery directory.

Chuck, I will send a support ticket with a link, but the other issues I posted such as how to get the bb and html codes to default as always showing instead of having to click on the television icon with the chain link in it and the issue of me not finding the show html and bb code toggle in the show photos options panel can be addressed here so others can learn to.
Thanks

well you need to hit the television icon as you call it to show the rest of the links thats how it is designed. There is no way to get it to display without you altering your files to allow that as there is no switch.
The html direct links are in admin => show photo options
The ubbcode link is in admin => upload options I beleive.
I would be happy to respond about missing images etc but I would need to see a link for that.

I have a support e-mail almost ready to go on the other stuff.
The upload photo options was the one that has the show UBB code, so thanks for that. It maintained the previous version setting of yes.
By the way, you ought to update that text to just BB, after all, more users have vB than Ultimate Bulletin Board aka UBB! |

What email would you have sent this from? All tickets in our system have been answered. It could be as simple as we responded but maybe spam filter on your end caught the response? I respond to all support issues where applicable in the same day many times a day as you know |
