Upload question

In the server folder listing for photopost, what are is the purpose of all the folders generated in the upload section. i.e. public_html/photopost/uploads/1188 etc.

Also, what does it mean when there are images in these folders? Are these images that did not process correctly?

When I go to my main photopost page, the Admin link has the check mark telling me that I have images to upload, but when I go to the approve images section, it shows no images awaiting upload. Something is askew and I am wondering if the images in these folders are the cause.

You get that checkmark if there are photos or comments to approve so you might need to check moderate comments if you have no photos awaiting approval.

The purpose of the numeric directories under uploads are the temp folders per userid that files are uploaded to before processing. These must be set to 777 much like uploads and data. If you have files still under uploads users either might be having trouble upload or they did not process all their images.

So I could safely delete these files without screwing up the photo database correct?

Also, some of these folders will not let me change the permission settings for them. I can't do it via cpanel or anything. Any thought on why that would be?

You can safely delete any directory under uploads yes just dont touch anything under data

If you can not set permissions on any file or folder on your hosting account you would need to ask your host to look at this as you should be able to.
